- Bangladesh Betar had a glorious role during our liberation war. A war time radio was set up called "The Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra". Programs from this revolutionary radio inspired the freedom fighters and galvanised the whole nation to clinch independance from the occupational forces of Pakistan through a bloody war of liberation under the leadership of father of the nation Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Bangladesh Betar was awarded the highest national honour "Independence Award -2006" for it's unique contribution to the war of liberation.
